Built to order (normally around the 4 months mark) This model does not have the normal drive unit or stabiliser unit. Instead, a small circuit board is used that handles ALAC, Back focus, X2 motor and temperature sensor.
When using the lens remotely in a helicopter system the unit needs to be modified from its usual state. First thing is that there is no drive unit with the lens but it does come with a small PCB board that handles the controls listed below;
- ALAC information
- Master back focus power (our 4K premium range has an electronic back focus that moves constantly with the zoom to keep optimal optics)
- Extender motor - The 0-type version does have an extender and it's controlled via a motor within the housing. This does not exist on the normal drive unit version lens.
- Temperature sensor for master focus
- Encoder input to determine where the lens is in order to adjust back focus accordingly.
- The cost of the Shotover type modification far exceeds the cost of standard UA46x with a Rocker (Drive Unit)
